We started the Short Tennis group this year.
Short tennis is similar to ordinary tennis but played on a half size court, no overhead serving and each game ends when the winners have secured 11 points and with a two point advantage. Short Tennis rackets have a shorter handle - usually a children's racket is easiest and cheapest.
We normally play doubles with players sitting out from time to time for a rest. Balls are supplied but you will need to purchase a racket (cost approx £20). We have a few places available for new players so if interested contact the Group Leader, Barbara Roberts, or Groups Coordinator, Peter Scaife. If you are not sure Short Tennis for you, come and observe. A nice fun afternoon and some gentle exercise as well.
The group meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month at the United Church Hall, South Street Dorchester.
