Learning Resources
Dorset Libraries: Did you know that Dorset Libraries have excellent online resources for members, including being able to read magazines, newspapers or Encyclopedia Britannica from your tablet or PC. See more detail by clicking on our Dorset Libraries Page.
The Dorset County Museum: We have an excellent museum in our town which besides extensive and varied collections has regular talks by a variety of groups. You can become a member of the Dorset Natural History and Archaeological Society which owns and cares for the museum
Lyme Regis Museum: has a number of events that may be of interest to our members who can get out that way.
Weymouth College: provides a wide variety of courses some of which may be of interest.
Kingston Maurward College: Dorset’s College of the Countryside offers mainly employment related training.
MOOC: MOOC stands for Massive Open Online Course. It is an online course aimed at large-scale participation and open (free) access via the internet. However, some providers may charge for things like graded items, course completion certificates, or exams. They are similar to university courses but do not tend to offer academic credit.
TED Talks: Amongst other things, TED provides short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less) on a huge range of topics, all available to watch online.
Future Learn: Provides access to online courses from various sources - some are free but others have charges.
