Annie Freud reads her poems to the group.
We are currently operating as an email discussion group, with a poem per month sent out for discussion. This allows members to comment as little or as much as they like on that month’s chosen poem. It also has the advantage that you can take part when it best suits you, rather than at a scheduled day and time. If you’d like to join us, get in touch!
Prior to restrictions, we would normally meet monthly on the third Thursday of each month between 1pm and 2.45pm, at the Holy Trinity Parish Centre (downstairs).
Poetry appreciation involves recognising and appreciating in a positive way the skill that went into crafting it. There are no right answers when you respond to a poem, and very few wrong ones, and one person’s opinion is just as valid as another’s. We read and discuss the poems as a group (which is frequently easier than as an individual).
