Dorchester Civic Society
The Society was founded in 1974 and is independent and non-political. It exists to stimulate people’s interest in the town and its setting; encourage high standards of architecture, urban design and planning; preserve and enhance buildings and areas of historic interest and the town’s landscape setting; and promote civic pride. The Society promotes these aims by acting as a critical friend to the county, district and town councils and by collaborating with like-minded organisations.
