Italian Elementary
From Wednesday 27 September (11.00-12.30). This class might be for you if you have already done some basic Italian and want to improve your ability to understand the language and gain confidence in speaking. There is more listening, speaking and reading in the class as written work and written grammar can be undertaken between classes as needed. We have been using Al Dente 1 which includes some cultural input too and in the Autumn term will be meeting/using the ‘passato prossimo’ tense for talking about past events (new for some people, but revision for others).
If you would like more information or are considering joining us, you can contact me, José Hinton from September at 01305 261494.
Meetings are in the Holy Trinity Parish Centre, Upper Classroom.

Italian Level 3
Level 3 will continue weekly on Thursdays at HTPC 11.00 – 12.30, alternating upstairs and downstairs rooms, depending on whether Art is downstairs.
This is an informal group, meetings being almost as much a social event (most members have been with the group for a good many years) as an opportunity to learn or improve our grasp of the Italian language. The emphasis is very much on communicating. We do a variety of activities, including conversation around topics often agreed beforehand, listening comprehension passages, grammar and associated exercises, and reading, including working our way through Natalia Ginsburg’s Lessico Famigliare. The atmosphere is relaxed and encourages people to practise their language skills in an informal context.
There are now around ten people in the group so we are not actively seeking new members at the moment.
Kate Forrester has taken over as Group Leader.
We meet in the Holy Trinity Centre on Thursdays at 11:00 to 12:30.
For further details contact the group leader, Kate Forrester.
