u3a Quiz Group
We all know how important it is, as we grow older, to keep active. Exercise, be it a daily walk, a visit to the gym or a Joe Wicks workout, are essential for our health and well being. Whilst it's good to keep as physically fit as we can, it's also important to keep the brain active....and a quiz does just that...and it's fun!
Experts say that knowing obscure facts is good for our mental health and that playing trivia games can-quote - "provide a dopamine rush much like gambling, without the negative effects ". How about that! So why not come along to our quiz and exercise your brain! Join up with others to make a team and answer a few questions. I can assure you that you will be surprised at what you do know....and anyway, we learn more when we don't know all the answers. We cover a variety of topics, and the style varies from Question and Answer, to Multi-choice and sometimes a Picture or music round. There are no prizes - it's just for fun. We meet on the third Wednesday each month (except in August when we take a break ) between 2pm and 4pm in St George's Church Hall - click here to find this venue. Free parking is available at the hall. You will receive a warm welcome and a hot drink during the interval. New members are very welcome to come along.
