Good morning Jazz Friends .
A change to our Programme in March, I will be stepping in with a Programme called " This is what we call Jazz" Originally I was due to talk on George Melly but on reflection, I don't think this would appeal to you all so instead, I am going to play and talk about an assortment of Classic Jazz Tracks and maybe a couple of Vocals .This will broadly follow the development of Jazz back from the early days in New Orleans up until the Modern era, and I hope to cover the main genres with a lot of my favourites,( don't, worry, there is only one Ken Colyer track) I think you will like the music I will be playing so I hope to see you on the 11th.Incidentally Ian will be talking about "The Role of the Saxophone in Jazz" in June.
Please put March 11th into your Diaries. Mingling will start at 10am and talking at 10.30am
Very best wishes
Don't forget, if you want to make contact for U3A Jazz Group, please send a note alanmcleish@gmail.com,
I would love to hear from you
