Reading for Pleasure 1
NEW VENUE FROM NOVEMBER 2022 = THE LIBRARY
Reading for Pleasure
We continue to meet on the second Tuesday of the month at the Library 2-3.30pm. It’s always good to see everyone and have a lively discussion, not to mention a cup of tea together. We have recently read ‘The Trumpet Major’ by Thomas Hardy, ‘Walking the Nile’, a travelogue by Levison Wood and Michelle Obama’s autobiography ‘Becoming’, which we were pleased to eventually receive from the library on our third request! Coming up will be Steinbeck’s ‘The Grapes of Wrath’, a brave choice which should give our brain cells a workout, ‘The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver and ‘Cold Comfort Farm’ by Stella Gibbons for a lighthearted read over Christmas. Contact the Group Leader to see if they are full if so try Booktalk or Reading for Pleasure 3.
