Contribute to your u3a
u3a’s are self-help organisations. With the exception of external speakers, all our activities are carried out by members and we are totally dependent on our members being willing to volunteer.
Current Vacancies:
- Meeters and greeters: We need more members to act as Meet and Greeters at our first Monday Meetings to help new members to feel welcome - contact Jane Hopwood
- Committee member (4 vacancies) - contact Alan Hopwood
- Group Leader or Contact Roles - contact Peter Scaife
- Spanish Beginners
- Wine Appreciation
- Web-team member - contact Alan Hopwood
Ways to Contribute:
As a member of a group
Please check with your Group Leader if there are ways in which you can help within the group. Many groups share the work. In some cases, groups are too large and would split into two groups if there was a volunteer to lead the second group.
Where you have a specific skill or interest
Consider whether members might be interested in having you lead a new group to share your interest. We are always willing to check for interest with the membership. Please discuss your ideas with the Groups Coordinator (see Contacts).
Supporting the organisation
We depend on committee members and other roles to keep the organisation working. Most of these are shown on the Contacts page. Please consider taking your turn to contribute to running our organisation. You don’t have to wait for a vacancy before making your interest known to a committee member.
