An Introduction to Card Games Played with Classic Tarot Packs.
It will be run over 8 afternoons. The course will introduce you to the wonderful family of card games played with Tarot – or Tarock – cards. We will learn 3 fun, entry-level, games including French Tarot, now the most popular card game in France, Tapp Tarock, a neat little 3-hander from Austria; and Dappen, a recently discovered 6-7 player game from the Black Forest of Germany. Despite the name, these cards are not designed or used for divination, but may be seen across most of Europe for playing games, as they have been for around 600 years!
