Group Leaders needed
Jazz Appreciation - Alan McCleish would like someone to take over his longstanding and much appreciated Group. We would also like to restart the German Intermediate and French Intermediate Groups if someone is willing to lead them. Amateur Radio: Rob Mott has offered to talk to any interested members about amateur radio and potentially help a group interested in obtaining foundation licences. He would be only too happy to tutor the group. Rob, as well as being station manager and presenter at KeeP106 radio, is a radio ham and experienced radio engineer. He gave us a talk at the June FMM about Public Radio in the UK and the establishment of KeeP106 as Dorchester’s local community Radio. If you were not able to attend the meeting, have a look at their website KeeP106. Rob can potentially bring in equipment and, with other local amateurs, demonstrate HF radio, VHF and UHF, data modes and even operate through a satellite with both speech and HD TV. If you are interested in this, please let Jane Huff know ([email protected]) and we will set up an exploratory meeting with Rob. FOOD BANK
