Yoga

Yoga photos courtesy of Yogi Lea (Dr Lea Brindle).

Yoga3The class is at Sandringham Court and starts 10 am sharp! The class is an hour long so it is important that we make the most of our time “on the mat.” So please arrive in time to settle ready to start at 10 am sharp.”

Yoga is for everyone and although we will essentially be doing “hatha yoga” which emphasises the physical aspects of yoga (postures, breathing, diet, etc.) we will also explore meditation and yoga philosophy if there is an interest in so doing.

Ultimately yoga benefits the body, mind and spirit (although it is NOT a religion). Yoga is MUCH MORE than an exercise class though.

The course leader is (Dr) Lea Brindle and be has been teaching yoga for nearly ten years now and practicing a wee while longer than this!

Lea is the “Dorset County Rep” for the British Wheel of Yoga and you can find out more about him on www.yogasadhana.co.uk. By the way, yoga sadhana simply means “the practice of yoga.”

Please note that you do not have to be “fit & flexYoga12ible” to practice yoga! Everyone can do yoga if they have the right attitude of mind and this can sometimes take time to develop. You may already be quite experienced in yoga or you may be a beginner – it really does not matter as long as you have an open mind!

The yoga group is for those who think they would like to take their yoga seriously and is not really for those who wish to pop in and out of classes to suit their other interests!

By all means come along and try a couple of classes then if you like what you find we ask for a reasonable commitment to regular practice. Obviously, we all take holidays, have other occasional commitments and are sometimes ill and cannot attend.Yoga11

We have a comfy, warm room with room for up to 12 students. Ideally you will need to bring along a yoga mat, a blanket, warm clothing and possibly belts, blocks, etc. if you need then. Lea can advise on this when you come to your first few classes.

Lea’s telephone number, if you would like further information or discuss anything, is (01305) 837283 and his email is shown below
